How are 2 cups of flour measured?
Using Flour Measurements – Prep Time: 2 minutes Total Time: 2 minutes Learn how to precisely measure flour for baking recipes. Whenever you use the spoon and level approach, you will have excellent results. First, fluff the flour in the container or bag.
- Flour readily settles and becomes densely packed within a bag or container.
- Before measuring flour, you should fluff it with a spoon or fork to ensure you are not scooping compacted flour.
- Place the flour in a measuring cup.
- Gently load it into the measuring cup until it forms a mound above the rim.
- Do not compact the flour.
To level the flour, drag a knife across the top of the measuring cup. This will remove surplus flour from the top of the cup without compacting the flour within. DO NOT immediately scoop the flour from the canister. This flour is frequently thickly packed, therefore dipping the measuring cup into the bag or jar will almost always result in excess flour.
